ORGANIC HERB GARDEN
Situated in the picturesque Delvin river valley, just outside the charming village of Naul, The Herb Garden is a rewilded, organic garden and a haven for native Irish flora and fauna. It was established by me, Denise Dunne, in 1995 and was the first Certified Organic specialist herb plant and seed nursery in Ireland. Although the nursery is no longer operating, I intend to open the garden for Educational Events, Workshops and Seasonal Foraging Wwalks in the near future. For updates, subscribe to our newsletter.
I am currently working on developing my new venture, The Herb School, where I will host a series of Online Training Sessions, Workshops and Foraging Events on all aspects of growing and using herbs and native Irish wild plants for food and medicine. New website coming soon. Sign up for updates at www.theherbschool.ie
I offer a Consultancy Service, giving advice on herb garden design, organic growing, organic conversion plans and specialist menu planning, incorporating local and seasonal products, herbs and wild foods.
HERB GARDEN DESIGN
We specialise in Herb Garden Design for the private and corporate sector – restaurant and hotel kitchen gardens; heritage garden restorations; walled and medieval gardens; medicinal, aromatherapy and sensory gardens.
Denise is available for talks, demonstrations and workshops on all aspects of growing and using herbs. For more information please visit our Talks|Workshops|Foraging Walks page.
Unfortunately all real life workshops, talks and foraging walks are postponed until further notice. I am working on plans for virtual alternatives. Online talks, workshops and foraging walks can be tailored to meet your needs. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any further enquiries.
COVID 19 UPDATE
While I had wonderful plans for foraging events, workshops, and wild and local dinners for the 2020 and 2021 growing season, everything has of course been put on hold. I hope to put these plans into action in the near future.
I'm also planning to record some wild food foraging videos, and share some recipe ideas for the food I am cooking at home, using store cupboard ingredients, local produce and seasonal wild foods.
In the meantime, you can find plenty of information on growing and using herbs by clicking on the drop down menus above.
For further information please get in touch on my contact page or Subscribe to my Newsletter (sign-up form below).
I am still available for virtual/online talks, foraging walks, design and consultancy work, and please don't hesitate to contact me with any further enquiries.
Thank you everyone for your support.
Stay safe and take care of yourselves and each other.
